The RSE has submitted evidence to help inform the Inquiry being undertaken by the Scottish Parliament’s Finance and Constitution Committee into the Impacts of Brexit on the Scottish Budget.
The Advice Paper notes the many uncertainties around Brexit, while highlighting the Scottish economy’s reliance on particular sectors and skills. The RSE suggests that the Scottish Government would be well served undertaking scenario planning to assist in preparing for the potential impacts of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU on the Scottish economy.
The submission also addresses the effects Brexit may have on: Scotland’s public finances; the gross value added of Scotland’s major cities; and, demographic challenges.
