The Royal Society of Edinburgh, Scotland’s National Academy, is pleased to present Issue 65 of the RSE newsletter, ReSourcE, highlighting some of the work in which the RSE is currently engaged.
The latest edition features expert opinions from RSE Fellows on the impact of their work during the COVID-19 pandemic and an update on the RSE Post-COVID-Futures Commission; it was against the backdrop of the challenges presented by Covid-19 that the Post-Covid-19 Futures Commission was established in May. Since then four working groups have been set up to explore the themes of Building National Resilience; Data, Evidence and Science; Inclusive Public Service; and Public Debate and Participation. Read more about these themes in contributions from six Commissioners, who offer their perspectives.
Reflect on the Curious summer programme, with articles from two of the speakers who joined this year’s online festival: Professor Scott Murray on the subject of death and why we need to positively embrace it; and from Dr Helen Bridle on the latest developments in TB research. Meet the latest cohort of Enterprise Fellows, whose plans include developing innovative products, services, and technology in the health, nuclear, manufacturing and transport industries.
