The need to recognise the critical inter-relationship of research, policy and practice.
Ensuring that educational research is facilitated with appropriate access to and use of data, including linkages across relevant datasets; sustainable funding for research; and addressing skills capacity, particularly quantitative analysis.
Any strategy or set of expectations must ensure that it undermines neither the research effort nor the creativity of researchers.
Recognition that direct dialogue between researchers and teachers is an influential factor in the translation of research into classroom practice.
