Professor of Computer and Information Science, University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Susan Davidson is a computer scientist whose research interests include database and web-based systems, scientific data management, provenance, crowdsourcing and data citation. She has been Professor of Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania since 1998, first joining the faculty in 1982. Susan has developed provenance management techniques for scientific workflow systems, including support for search and query, reducing provenance overload using views, and marrying database-style and workflow-style provenance management. Recently, she has focused on privacy concerns surrounding the capture and use of provenance information, crowd-sourcing, and how to cite digital datasets.
