Since 1998, when he first started working on his PhD at The Rockefeller University, Professor Andrew Millar has spent his career investigating the 24-hour, biological clock in plants. He joined The University of Edinburgh in 2004 after roles at University of Warwick and University of Virginia. In 2007, he founded The University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Systems Biology at Edinburgh which later became SynthSys. Between 2016 and 2018, he was Non-Executive Director of the James Hutton Institute. Andrew was elected a member of EMBO in 2011 and Fellow of the Royal Society in 2012.
