Professor Alastair Kenneth St.Clair Ager FRSE

Since training in psychology at the Universities of Keele, Wales and Birmingham, Professor Alastair Ager has worked in the field of global health and development for over 30 years. He has served in roles including that of Head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Malawi and Executive Director of the Global Health Initiative at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Alastair is most proud of the impact that his work has had on policy and practice regarding de-institutionalisation strategies for persons with learning disabilities, refugee integration policy in Scotland, the UK, and beyond, and global mental health provision in humanitarian contexts.
