Due to the Principal of the University announcing that all face-to-face teaching is suspended for the rest of the semester, sadly we have had to cancel these Masterclass sessions. We hope to have the Masterclasses return in autumn; those who had booked will be given first refusal of a space.
Researchers at St Andrews University are holding the following Start-Up Science and Technology Masterclasses, to conduct science experiments with S1 and S2 students:
- 4 April – Marine Discovery
This Masterclass will take place at the Scottish Oceans Institute so participants can also take part in their Open Day Activities – more details can be found here. Families are welcome to stay after the Masterclass session has completed to explore the activities together.
- 25 April – Bagpipes and Electrons
- 2 May – Volcanic Eruptions: Past & Present on Earth and Beyond
- 16 May – Chemical Cluedo
At these Masterclasses, students get up to all sorts of science and technology mischief!
The sessions are run in partnership with St Andrews University and are intended to give young people who have shown an interest in science and technology the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and experience. The sessions promote participation and provide the students with a unique insight into academic life and research.
