COVID-19 update for RSE Award holders

The RSE is aware that as a consequence of the current COVID-19 outbreak, holders of RSE research awards may need to cancel activities, such as planned visits, workshops and events, or reschedule them to a later date.

RESCHEDULING: If you need to reschedule activities beyond the original end period of your award or delay the start of your award, then you should submit a request for an extension to the period of award in accordance with our Extension Policy. Please use the form provided.

In the first instance, we will grant no-cost extensions of up to 25% of the original length of the award to enable awards holders to adapt and manage their research schedule as best as possible.

CANCELLING: If you have incurred costs for an activity that you plan to cancel then you should please seek to minimise any financial loss via mechanisms such as the refund policy, your travel insurance or underwriting by your University.

While we cannot guarantee any additional funding, we will consider requests to support up to 20% of cancelled activities.

In making a request for additional funds, award holders should outline actions they have taken to mitigate costs.

Personal Research Fellowships: We will consider requests to extend the period of award for current holders of Personal Research Fellowships on a case-by-case basis.

Open funding calls: Our upcoming funding calls – including application deadlines, shortlisting, interview and decision dates – will proceed as normal. Any changes to these dates will be updated on our Funding and Awards page.
