Brexit and the Environment in Scotland

As part of its work examining the implications of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, the RSE has published an advice paper that considers the impact of Brexit on environment policy in Scotland. Among its recommendations, the paper proposes the establishment of a new independent environmental body with responsibility for ensuring enforcement of environmental principles, policies and regulations in Scotland following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. The RSE also considers that there is a persuasive case for creating a new Environment Act for Scotland.
